question... Q? Are you and your dreadlocks FESTIVAL ready?

Q? Are you FESTIVAL ready?

It seems like only yesterday that all that Christmas malarky and fuss was going on. Wrapping presents, visiting family, and stuffing ourselves with our favourite Christmas meal... and before we know it, the Summer Festival Season is about to get under way and into full swing!

The question is... are you ready for it?

  • All Purpose Bar: You're staying away from home and you need something small that you can take with so that you can look after both your dreads... and everything else too. (the All Purpose Bars can be used to clean almost anything.)
  • Travel Soap Box: You have your All Purpose Bar... but you need something to keep it in. The travel soap box is just right for keeping your stuff soap bar lather free.
  • Dreadlock Beads: You're going to party and you want to bling up your dreads.
  • Headbands: You want to dance all day... and maybe even all night. A headband might come in handy to keep your dreads in place.
  • Hats: If you're going to Glastonbury... good luck. The festival of rain and mud is nearly here. If you want to be out all day, and you're in the rain, a dread hat is an ideal way to keep your dreads dry.

If you're going to a festival this... have fun and enjoy!

Using a Latch Hook Tool for Dreadlocks...

Using a Latch Hook Tool for Dreadlocks... The Latch Hook... a tool for helping pull loose hairs into their dreads. No matter whether you are pulling in loose hair at the roots, body, or tips of your dreads, the process is the same. 1). Isolate the loose hair that needs to be pulled in making sure it does, indeed, belong to the dread in question. 2). Once you isolate the hair(s) - twist them a bit to hold them together. 3). Next estimate how far up the dread the hair will get pulled and insert the latch hook in at that point. 4). Feed the latch hook through the MIDDLE of the dread and poke it out in the middle of the loose hair. 5). Place the loose hair in the hook and close the latch. 6). Holding the loose hair taut, pull the latch hook back up through the dread, pulling the loose hair with it. 7). Repeat as desired.

It's a Wrap (head wrap) part 4: How to tie a head wrap, the Boho Turban way

It's a Wrap (head wrap) part 4: How to tie a head wrap, the Boho Turban way

WEAR A LONG SCARF TURBAN - This version is by far with the most volume! And to achieve that, you really have to have a base underneath, and that, this time is a must, is another scarf underneath.

  1. Pull your hair up high in a bun.
  2. Tie a knot of a longer scarf at the top front of your head. Wrap one loose end of the scarf around your head.
  3. Tuck it in the pockets under the knot.
  4. Take the second loose end of the scarf and fold it over the knot.
  5. Tuck the second loose end into the pockets but leave the fringes loose and hanging.
  6. Tie another long scarf with the knot at the back or an a side.
  7. Tuck in both loose ends anyway you desire.
  8. Voila!
Fluff the scarf to get the volume. Here too, you may have additional scarf underneath, that is not necessary but it will get you great volume.
